Jaiden, professionally known as FTL Jaii is a 17-year-old rising artist from Cleveland, OH. While he has only been taking music seriously for the past year, he was introduced to music at an early age because of his numerous family members who have been making music since he was 5 years old. He broke into the music industry this year by staying consistent and utilizing his resources.
The FTL in his name stands for “From The Land” symbolizing that he is from Cleveland, and Jaii comes from his real name, Jaiden, but he added an extra “i” because “you need two eyes to see the vision.”
Jaii gained popularity in his city from being the starting point guard on his high school basketball team, he was even named rookie of the year. No stranger to hard work, he took student-athlete to another level by graduating high school a year early.
Jaii brings a versatile sound to the industry being influenced by artists such as Lil Baby and EST Gee as well as artists such as Calboy and Toosi. Although he is very young, Jaii has a story to tell and he mixes and masters his own music. His insane work ethic and consistency will be what makes him a superstar. He wants to show that you can be a young kid from a tough place and still make it. He also plans to give back to his community starting with a school supply drive in August at his alma mater, Brooklyn High School.
Recently FTL Jaii was featured in Talk of the Land and won Rookie of the Year in Hot Music Cleveland in 2021. Before graduating highschool in May 2023 he performed live at The Odeon in Cleveland with YSN Flow and in SXSW in Austin. You can catch him performing in Denver in July with Sleazyworld Go.
He just released his second mixtape on June 9 titled “Hottest Youngin.” This latest project showcases a feature from YFL Kelvin, previously signed to Def Jam. He also dropped the video for his latest single off the project, “Drill (Highspeed),” shot by Joni Spielberg.
